Hi, I’m Chris. A second-year graphic design student from London studying in Bournemouth.
I have a broad interest in graphic design and communication. Recently I have had the opportunity of undertaking a series of live-brief. The first was with 3 Sided Cube, a tech for good company. Where I designed an app which aimed to build deeper engagement between students and the elderly community. The fact that through design someone can make a real difference to society is extremely motivating.
Another recent live-brief I was involved with beyond my course, is a collaboration with marketing students at Bournemouth University. We created the branding and identity for an annual lecture series, The Mike Warne Event. The event went live in March 2017 and was open to the public and explores immersive technologies.
I have also partaken in a series of 24 hour briefs. This includes 'Sell a Car' with design company RLA, AUB 24 with Bestival and finally Movember. Working to these tight deadlines is always a challenge but I enjoy the fast pace of working and the sense of achievement from seeing how far an idea can be pushed in such a short time frame.
I have a particular interest in type and was involved in putting on a collaborative exhibition at AUB titled, ‘For the Love of Graphics’. For the exhibition I contacted designers such as Anthony Burrill who donated a series of type posters. The exhibition is open to the public and the private view was in February 2017.
When I’m not designing I can be found playing music, this was useful when creating and editing the motion graphics sequence. I have self-taught myself the ukulele, guitar and now currently learning the piano. It’s a challenge but the feeling of achievement when you’ve learnt something new more than makes up for it!
I love to chat so please get in touch and I look forward to hearing from you and showing you some of my print work.
